Our story for the year aims
to convey the value that Netcare contributes to our stakeholders and especially society at large. As a summation of our wide-reaching contribution in 2011, this is a fresh take on the highlights usually found in an annual report overview.
Giving substance to the
value story line, the CEO’s
review is structured
according to Netcare’s six
strategic pillars. In each
case, the strategic intent
is discussed in relation
to the Group’s key value
drivers and operational
examples are given to
indicate the progress
made in the year.
We have expanded our
operating reports to
provide more integrated
assessments of our
performance in each
country. The reports
that comprise the reviews
cover all the activities that
underpin the sustainability
of our operations. This
has obviated the need
for a consolidated
sustainability report.
The clinical governance
reports for SA and UK,
which together formed a
separate section in last
year’s report, are included
in each of the operating
reports given the critical
importance of clinical
governance to the viability
of our operations.
In line with the disclosure
on remuneration
recommended in the
King Report on Corporate
Governance for South
Africa (King III), we have
provided a more
comprehensive
remuneration report.
We have continued to
make improvements to
our annual financial
statements as well as
including disclosure
required in terms of the
Companies Act No 71
of 2008.
